Who is Madison Russell?

“The funniest person at a funeral.”

Madison is an actor/singer who is currently earning her BFA in Musical Theater, and her Masters of Business Administration from Ohio University. She is from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and is planning on moving to New York City after finishing school. She has been seen regionally in Tantrum Theater’s productions of Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical and Twelfth Night, Or What You Will, as well as The McCarter Theatre Center’s production of A Christmas Carol.

She accidentally found her love of performing in the sixth grade, when her best friend made her pinky promise to audition for the school musical and has been in love with the craft ever since. She approaches performance from a place of vulnerable honesty, and is known for making audiences laugh and cry at the same time. She has also taken a liking to producing and directing. Madison produced “the Miscast Cabaret” in the spring of 2025 with Ohio University’s Fringe Festival, and was assistant director for Ohio University’s School of Theater’s production of Elegies: A Song Cycle.

Madison’s hopes and dreams consist of taking over the world one grilled cheese at a time, owning her own home eventually, and to spend a lifetime onstage making people laugh. She cares deeply about the environment, Fran Lebowitz, and quirky fashion statements. A lover of nicknames, those who know her well refer to her as “Mad Russ” but she’s used to answering to just about anything.
